Verge claims to be a fast cryptocurrency coin with the main concentration towards privacy. The Verge crypto-currency was founded in 2014 by a blockchain expert & developer Sunerok. The Verge (XVG) coin was created with regard to people's everyday use. To provide a fast and efficient way to accomplish direct transactions while maintaining full privacy & security for individuals or businesses. Technology

Its ancestor is an early privacy coin DogeCoinDark. Thanks to using TOR and I2P to cloak the IP addresses and geo locations of the users, Verge able to sustain completely untraceable, anonymous transactions at all times. By implementing the Wraith Protocol into its blockchain technology it allows users to switch between private and public ledgers without any effort. Verge gives senders opportunity to create unlimited one-time destination addresses (stealth addressing) and these addresses can not be linked back to the sender. Verge uses the Diffie-Hellman protocol (ECDH) to securely transmit information. This model allows two individuals that know each other’s public keys to calculate a “shared secret” that can’t be duplicated neither be associated with a key.

Wraith Protocol

Bitcoin has its ledger public, which means that all transactions can be easily reviewed and linked to a public address through the blockchain explorer. Ledgers can be private as well, so all transaction data are hidden and can’t be viewed. However, public and private ledgers couldn’t be in existence on the same blockchain.

Wraith Protocol solves this issue and gives the user an opportunity to choose. Users can now freely choose which ledger they want to use.

When Wraith Protocol is switched on - all data are hidden and can’t be viewed through the blockchain explorer.

If there is a need of transparency Wraith Protocol is switched off, so data can be viewed.

Verge provides total mystification of IP addresses in both cases, thanks to the most advanced version of TOR integrated in the Core Wallet.

TOR

People use TOR to avoid unnecessary tracking from websites or to connect to news sites while these are blocked by the internet providers. The Tor is a group of volunteer servers, which allows people to enhance their privacy & security on the Internet. Tor hides you between the other tor’s users, so as more people use Tor, higher level of anonymity will be constituted. This is why the diversity of its users actually contribute a big part of what makes this service so secure. Tor is also used as a fundamental block for software programmers to develop new tools with effective privacy features.Tor's users connect through a several virtual tunnels instead of making a direct connection. This allows to share information over public networks with immense privacy. Tor is also an effective tool against censorship, because it allows users to reach, in any other way, blocked content.

I2P

Invisible Internet Project (I2P) is an anonymous peer-to-peer communication network resistant against any censorship. The connection is attained by encrypting the traffic of a user (end-to-end encryption), and passing it over a volunteer-run network of more or less 55,000 computers all around the world. Thanks to the high number of traffic paths possibilities is very unlikely that any third party could watch a full connection. The computer running it is an I2P node. The software which carries out this layer is called an I2P router. Invisible Internet Project (I2P) is free and it’s open source released in multiple licenses.

I2P uses 2048bit ElGamal / AES256 / SHA256 with session-tags-encryption. (Ed25519 EdDSA  ECDSA signatures)

Disadvantages

• Apparently, It still  has some glitches that are caused by the technology used in developing.
• Verge project could be traced to just one single developer, who unfortunately doesn’t seem to be improving the Verge network on a larger scale.
• There were rumors on Reddit forums about Sunerok, the lead developer of Wraith Protocol, wouldn’t finish the update in a few months as expected.

Whitepaper

Verge has published 16 pages of “black paper” (functionally identical to white paper).

The Verge’s black paper provides a glut of information focused on the technical aspect of the project. Nevertheless, the overall approach of the black paper is friendly even to non-IT readers. There is also in-depth information explaining execution of the anonymization techniques used by this cryptocurrency.

Real examples of use

For example when Wraith Protocol is switched ON – no one is able to view transaction data. It’s impossible even through blockchain explorer. In cases where clarity is suitable, Wraith Protocol is switched OFF automatically – exposing the transaction data on the public ledger. Verge makes the IP addresses in both instances inexplicable. When deployed with Wraith Protocol, Verge becomes the only cryptocurrency that is 100% undetectable..

Technical Analysis

After falling down at the $.02 level in mid-March, Verge (XVG) experienced a steady rise in April prior the announced agreement with Mindgeek (owner of Pornhub & other adult content websites).

In mid-March, we could observe the XVG price going down all the way to $.023 level and then it slightly began rising till mid-April.

The announcement of the partnership with the famous adult-website did give a great kick to Verge and it jumped up 350% – additionally…

On the day when the partnership with Mindgeek took place, XVG shot up with the coin reaching $.0725 at the end of the day.

Regardless of the sloppy trading action on 17th Apr ‘18, it remains in relatively decent technical shape.

Therefore, investors & traders would like to see XVG trading above $.119 and be capable of holding the level just before any further progress is achieved. The $.057 level, which just tallies with both the “50-day” & “200-day” moving averages providing a short-term support.

Fundamental Analysis

Verge is basically all about security and maintaining user anonymity.

This coin never took a part in ICO or “pre-mined coins”.

Verge (XVG) was able to regain back its “50-day” and “200-day” moving averages & is usually trading above those. This puts Verge to a favorable technical posture where it remains today. Although XVG continues to display respectable relative strength, it will have to fight the large volume of daily red bars to reclaim the Mojo.

Verge is not on the verge yet. However, there are some positive news. Bitfinex will now support XVG on their platform, which definitely gives it an additional boost.
